Calamity Jane, David Bowie and Gertrude Stein. Three folks you might never come across listed together, unless you own the new Macintosh/IBM-compatible program Queers in History. QIH is the first comprehensive listing of over 500 of Queer Culture's most prominent movers and shakers. It includes a summary of their accomplishments as well as a bibliography of over 75 books for further reading. The program allows accessing by profession and birthdate, lets you display info on the screen and print out reports, and is flexible enough to let you add your own favorite queers to the list. You can also change the titles of screens and listings to suit your needs and tastes (for instance, Queers in History can be changed to Lesbians and Gays in Herstory). QIH takes less than 2MB of disk space and displays on monochrome or color screens. It is available on 3.5" or 5.25" diskette and will run under Windows as a DOS program. You can find QIH at Gifts of Athena in Cleveland Heights, or order it directly from Quistory Ltd., P.O. Box 1064, Beverly Hills, CA 90213.
